KUCHING: Sarawak AgroFest 2023 (SAF2023) aims to attract around 100,000 visitors from across the state during its 10-day duration.
SAF2023 will be held from Sept 22 to Oct 1st at the Celebration Square next to the State Stadium, Petra Jaya, here.
Minister of Food Industry, Commodities, and Sarawak Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom, said the main objective of the festival is to actively promote agriculture and basic agricultural industry in the state.
This includes showcasing various rapidly growing industrial components, providing a dynamic platform to attract investors, and enhancing youth participation in agriculture.
“The festival will involve more than 200 exhibition participants, including agricultural industries, agencies, entrepreneurs, corporate and private sectors, including international players,” he said here, today.
SAF2023 will also feature various activities, including conferences, exhibitions and sales, investment promotions, food promotions, as well as competition elements.
“In addition, SAF2023 also provides opportunities for agricultural stakeholders to establish networks, business matching, and collaborations to enhance agricultural supply and value chains.
“It will also provide a space for product presentations, product launches, agro-product promotions, demonstrations, competitions, and the Farmer’s Award 2023.
“At the same time, visitors will also be treated to various entertainment activities, including local artiste performances, cultural performances, lucky draws, cat shows, and horse riding activities,” he said.
The festival, which will be inaugurated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, will revolve around the theme “Industrialising for Sustainable Food Security and Commodities”.
